3 stars – I liked it

When Kivian sees a human female collared and enslaved by the smuggler he is about to swindle, he decides to take her too. Now he has Fran and he is never going to give her up, but he will give her space while she gets used to not being able to return home and him and his crew.

This was a very sweet and short story. Kivian is a pirate but has morals. He is determined to win Fran over and show her that she is safe with him. I really enjoyed how flirty but respectful Kivian was. He never pushes Fran and waits for her to make a move.

Fran is a strong and snarky woman who isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. She may not know anything about space but she quickly realizes she is safe with Kivian and his crew. I loved watching her get snarky with Kivian and show him she isn’t a pushover. He likes it too. I also liked that she didn’t try to change who Kivian was and actually wanted to be a pirate like him.

Their relationship was sweet and she falls for him over the weeks they are in hiding. I enjoyed the banter and seeing Kivian struggle to keep his feelings hidden. I also liked the little we got to see of the crew and want to see them fall in love now. Overall, this was a great alien romance and I can’t wait to read more of the series.
