Power cord length?

I just ordered my 1st computer from Dell... I want to get my "computer room" set up over the weekend so it will be ready when the comuter arrives. Can anyone tell me how long the power cords are on the Dimension 4300? I'm wondering if I'll need to get extension cords. If someone can tell me how long their power cords are, I'd appreciate it!

With all the computers I've had ( XT, 386, 486, Pentium 233 MMX and my Dell 4100 P3 866) they have all been 6 feet I think this is just a standard size. Invest in a good Power bar with surge protection it is well worth the money.
I hope this helps.

They are approximately 6 feet long.

If using an extension cord (which isn't recommended) make sure it is a heavy gauge wire similar to the power cord for the computer. Get one only the length you need. Voltage drop ain't a good thing for a computer. Don't use a run-of-the-mill cord you can buy at K-Mart.

A better method is to get a UPS. They have an additional 4 feet, or so, you can use and are much prefered over a surge protector or power strip. The extra dolars spent on a UPS, considering how much the computer cost, is negligible.
