Replacement Mouse

I know you are going to find this hard to believe....but my 2003 Dell 4600 is still going strong with everyday use.  I keep it clean.

But I do need a new mouse.  Mine is the kind that is plugged in, in the back.  Attached, wired, I guess.

Could someone tell me if I can use a wireless or which and what mouse I should or could replace the original Logitech with.

I don't game or anything if that helps.

Can I get a pink or red one?:)  I think I should stick with the same original size (no mini).

Just about any wired or wireless mouse should work with your system. To keep things simple, steer clear of bluetooth mice.

Your mouse connection is most likely PS2 so if you get one with a USB connector you will need a USB to PS2 adapter. Other than that like the previous poster said just about any mouse will do

Could I ask another mouse question?

Here is what came with my pc....  6U220 Kit, Mouse, Personal System 2, S69, Logitech

It plugs into a little round hole in the back of my pc.

I love my USB's and don't really want to tie up one of them for a mouse.

But when I read all the Dell website selections, don't they all, wired, ps2, plug into a USB, unless I missed one?

I'm confused.  I just want my old black simple mouse but a new one that works.  No buttons on the side.

Thanks,

If it's a "PS/2 mouse", it plugs into the round connector on the back of your PC, not into USB. And you don't have to buy the mouse from Dell. You can buy it anywhere. Even Walmart sells mice these day, though it might be hard(er) to find one that is PS/2 (with the round plug) than a USB mouse.

If you prefer to use the PS/2 port on the PC, and you find a USB mouse that you like, you'll need a USB>PS/2 adaptor like the one here , but you can probably find it cheaper somewhere else. Just make sure you get one that connects a USB device to a PS/2 port , rather than a PS/2 device to a USB port . :emotion-5:
