Trying to extend display to three monitors

I'm trying to extend my display to three monitors (not using a laptop; this is just my Tower/CPU). I have one monitor (a Dell P2210) connected via displayport and then the remaining 2 (a Dell P2210 and P2422H) connected via a displayport splitter. I don't have a third displayport input.

I can see my desktop on all 3 but can only move my mouse over 2 (the P2210 and P2422H via the splitter). Is there anyway to extend the desktop further so I can use all 3?

The splitter would not let you extend display I think, because the video signal is shared between the two monitors. To have three independent display you would typically need three discrete video ports, or daisy chain three DP monitors that support DP in and out.  If your Inspiron has only two DP video ports and no third other video port, you could install a simple video card for a third monitor, or perhaps install an optional Dell video port if supported depending on your pc model.

Here are my specs:

I don't have an onboard HDMI port. I do have 2 USB3 ports available so I'll research that idea. Thanks for your input!

@charlesmead - Helps if you include exact PC mode and version of Windows.

Do you you have a HDMI port on the video card so you could use a HDMI(PC)>DP(monitor) adapter for 3rd monitor? (NOTE: video adapters typically only work in one direction, so make sure you get the right orientation.)

Do you have an onboard Intel DP port for direct connection to monitor #3, or an onboard Intel HDMI port that you can use with an HDMI(PC)>DP(monitor) adapter?

If all else fails, you could try a USB3>DP dongle for monitor #3. Make sure the USB dongle supports your version of Windows and the "recommended" (aka: "native" or "optimal") resolution of the monitor to be connected to the USB dongle.

@charlesmead - Are you saying you also don't have an add-in video card, only the two onboard Intel Graphics DP ports?

So unless you have monitors that can support DP daisy chaining, your only options would be to install an add-in video card or use a USB3 video dongle.

Correct. My older monitors (the 2210s) only have one DP port so I can't quite make the daisy chain idea work. Thanks anyway!

At least you still have some options for using a 3rd monitor...

Hey, Have you looked into any specific displayport splitters or adapters that might allow you to extend your desktop across all three monitors seamlessly? I'm asking because your experience could potentially help me facing similar challenges. Your input could shed light on potential workarounds or setups that others might not be aware of.
