    Optical reader writer for Dell laptops expansion bays. "D" series and some others.

    Proprietary plug for power and data. Fits lot of the old port replicator, expansion bays for dell laptops. Pentium-m, and core 2 duo possibly. Around 2005-2007 latitude "D" and inspiron series. Does not fit "E" series. The optical drive itself pulls out and can fit back in side the computer. Identical fit to original laptop drives. Dell made an optical bay battery that fit into laptop, So this optical could be used while the extra optical bay battery stays in the laptop and gets charged. Dell also had an IDE blue ray drive that possibly could be fit into this external chassis. Add the blue ray player software that came with some dell laptops, and just might show blue ray movies. A remote control came with some of the dell laptops series: Studio, 1400, 1500, 1700, XPS M1330 M1530 M1730 ...

    Who knew Dell makes an extrernal drive that doesn't use USB?

    uses special Dell connector, only used on a narrow vintage of laptops. These are worthless to most people
