I have a couple wireless keyboards, and mice, and a laptop with bluetooth, but no dongle. How do I connect them? I have a Logitech k235 Keyboard, and a flat microsoft keyboard with no model number I can find. There’s no button to pair them and no apparent key on the keyboard to put it into any kind of pairing mode.
Typically Bluetooth keyboards with no pair button indicate a dongle that uses 2.4 GHz to connect the devices. If this isn’t the case for you, turn on Bluetooth on your device and click “Add device.” This should scan for devices to connect. If you don’t see it there, you need a dongle. Also, you mentioned two keyboards…do neither of them have a dongle?
Hi! Thank you for the quick reply. No dongle for either. I had a logitech dongle but it might have been from another mouse/keyboard combo for another k235. Are dongles specific to the keyboards/mice they come with?
The Logitech keyboard uses a proprietary dongle and is not compatible with the Bluetooth spec
Is each dongle unique to it’s keyboard mouse, to where you lose the dongle the mouse/keyboard are useless?
Your K235 uses the Logitech Nano receiver which is different from the Unifying receiver, so make sure you get the correct version, but yes they can be replaced.
This should be a compatible version as far as I can tell: Logitech Wireless USB Nano PC Receiver CU0010 Dongle C-11077 Adapter 993-001106 | eBay
It depends on the device. Logitech’s higher end products use a programable dongle that will pair with multiple keyboards and mice at the same time. Their lower end products use a device specific dongle that is not programable which means once you lose it, the device is useless. Logitech devices that are compatible with the Unifying receiver will have an orange symbol on them like the one on the dongle below. No symbol means it is not supported.
