I was called to set up a Skype meeting today. The caller uses a Logitech C290 camera that allows 1080P which I have set up previously for the user with no problem, today however when I chose 1080P I get a black screen where I should see the camera image. I can bump it down to 720 and it works fine. As said I was able to get a 1080P image previously, less than a month ago to be exact. I checked the camera for updates but there were none. The drivers are up to date and haven’t changed since the last time I set up this Skype connection. The only thing that has happened was Windows 10 was upgraded from version 1511 to 1607. I checked on another PC that is used for Skype and that uses the same type of camera. It too worked fine a month ago while at version 1511 but now has the same black screen issue at 1080P since it’s been upgraded to version 1607.
It seems that the Windows 10 version upgrade breaks the Logitech’s ability to display 1080P. I have searched all afternoon for a fix but couldn’t find anything.
Has anyone else noticed this issue and if so did you find a fix?
Strange… The anniversary update broke somethings for me too… My vbox stopped working…an update fixed that though…
I also use a logitech device (cc3000series I think) for HD conferencing on a win10 device… Although, haven’t updated to 1607… I hosted a meeting on Thursday on 1080p successfully.
It’s definitely a Windows update ish… U might need to immediately uninstall recent updates on the conferencing machine (esp if u have a dedicated device for conferencing like we do) while u wait for a patch to be released…or a device driver update.
