[RECOVERY][DEVELOPMENT] TWRP/OrangeFox for Samsung Galaxy A05 [a05m] [MT6768]

Thank you for your efforts on the 2023 phone it was really difficult

g'day folks.
Tried flashing TWRP into my phone and it got success. Everything works except I can't mount the /data partition somehow and every reboot it got stuck eventually just boot to that recovery (can't get to OneUI). OrangeFox untested (hope it would work, I will try it later then).
I use OneUI 6.0, as if you said 6.0 works but idk, I wiped data but it still didn't work. Had to roll back to the stock recovery.
Anyways, I have found new thing and still look to find ways to tweak on my A05. Thanks for sharing!

Don't worry, friend, I assure you that in about 5 months you will see more developments to compile both roms and recoveries for this device, since it is a device with Snapdragon 680, it will not take you that much time to test and develop and launch it.

I thought the links still worked, I'm sorry I got you excited about finding a twrp even if it's unstable, I hope the developer only removed it because it's unstable and not the xda mods.

You can also check if there are recoveries for your device on Telegram. In my case, I have a Galaxy a03s and on enabled and installed lineage os 21 td GSI by andyyan and it's cool

They are gsi roms, so technically there are no roms for this model, unfortunately being mediatek we have to use gsi roms.

The one that has given me good speed on an a03s is the lineage OS 21 td bgN by Andy Yan.

I would appreciate those who have an SM-A055M or F to tell me their experience if they don't have errors or something like that, for example not being able to set a pattern, their internet goes out, it blocks and so on, since I want to remove one ui and put LOS on it but I It's scary that it will give you a bootloop or I don't know, apart from the twrp complications I don't understand if it is flashing in AP in odin and the vbmeta has to be included, it's good that I didn't use it on my A03s since the recovery based on it didn't require it in stock, but since I see that there is nothing similar for the a05 to install the gsi rom through twrp, I am afraid of charging my phone.

I take back what I said, the roms of this same user are the same as the ones he publishes on his telegram and I have already tried one and I am surprised that for a Mediatek it is a real rom and not based on a GSI rom.

cons that I saw and that I will probably polish:

You cannot deactivate the double-tap wake-up screen function. Quickshare cannot be used. It has magisk by default. You cannot activate fast charging. When you turn off and restart the phone completely for the first time, the touch does not work and a strange poster appears that I left in the rom forum. selinux and encryption are currently disabled. There is no option to update the rom in case we receive news without having to use twrp to install it manually, The front camera when taking a photo comes out backwards and when recording video with the front camera there is very little light and you have to illuminate yourself with a flashlight and when you copy something with the keyboard on the screen and press the symbol that appears when copying it fails system and also the front camera flash, once used once, no longer works and you have to exit the camera and re-enter for it to work again, the latter rarely fails.

From then on the rest works, I will continue updating the list if I find more errors

personally tested it with One UI 6.1 and July patch and it worked perfectly fine (except for the bugs listed by the creator)

Since you installed it, you will have some video that you can leave to flash TWRP.

I understand that vbmeta was needed but I have no idea and to avoid screwing up I ask for a kind and summarized guide

cant provide a video right now but i can make a step by step guide:


(Please make backups before you do this as I am not responsible for what happens to your device )
step 0: Make sure your bootloader is unlocked, if not then you need to. Be warned that unlocking your bootloader WILL wipe your system (skip this step if bootloader is already unlocked)

step 1: Unzip the TWRP/Orange Fox zip file and extract the TAR file inside
step 2: boot into download mode and click the Volume Up (+) button on your phone
step 3: open your PC and boot up Odin (make sure your device is plugged into the PC)
step 4: place the TWRP/Orange Fox tar file on the AP slot and click start
step 5: your phone should have rebooted and boot up normally
step 6: boot to recovery and check if TWRP/Orange Fox has installed sucesfully
