I've just purchased the ESR tempered glass protector off amazon for the S24U and the fingerprint reader is virtually useless. You have to press your fingers in really hard to the screen. I had a film protector on my S23U and that was fine.

Any other experiences with the flat glass protectors on these S24U?

Thanks

Dear experts

I would like to get a privacy screen protector. However I am not sure what disadvantage privacy screen protector has? Does it affect phone functionality in anyway? Does it make phone brightness less bright? Or in any other way does any disadvantage? Which one would you recommend?

I do not what people to look at my screen to see what I am doing on it.

Yes, fingerprint is working perfect.
Add fingerprints after you installed the tempered glass.
I also enabled the option of enhanced sensitivity
Ah okay. Is it really quick and easy to unlock? I followed the same steps after fitting the ESR one and I have to hold my finger on really hard and even then it's only 1 in 3 that it works. Don't know if it's the protector or a broken sensor in the phone.
So, I got my S24 Ultra yesterday and applied the Spigen EZ Tempered Glass screen protector and slipped the phone into a Spigen Hybrid clear case with the MagSafe ring.

I'm quite annoyed after reading Spigen's blurb that their screen protector is designed to work perfectly with their cases as the screen protector literally only covers the screen, and not the screen bezels, which means while there's only about 0.25mm gap between screen protector and case at the top and bottom, there is around a 2mm gap between the screen protector and case at each side.

In certain lights it looks awful and it's already a dust magnet 😔

On the plus side, the EZ fitting frame thing is amazing, absolutely perfect alignment.
I took this too, in my opinion it has a bad oleophobic resistance... it fills with fingers.

Yes, it unlocks quick.
I think its because the glass is a fraction thinner then most other protectors.
The front screen of S24 Ultra scratches at level 8 now, with very fint scratches only visible under light at an angle at level 7 based on this video.
This is an improvement over "scratches at level 6 and deep scratches at level 7" all other phones currently scratches at.
I think I will not apply any screen protector for now and enjoy the anti reflection.

P.S. in his teardown video the viper chamber is also improved over S23 Ultra.

I'm with you on that. I'm thinking of sending my Spigen tempered glass kit back to Amazon. My thinking is that the screen protector manufacturers will wise up and start offering a low glare version soon.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Had spare Samsung orginal screen protectors from last year bought with S23 Ultra.

It fitted perfectly fine on the S24 Ultra keeping some 99.9% of the display covered. No interference with a generic case I'm using temporarily, either.

That's the good point with the Galaxy S Ultra line. For the past three years, you can use the same screen protectors. 😂

I still have an S22U sheet in my drawers (was already reported to fit the S23U at the time), in case the Spigen glass would end up to fail its purpose. 👌

I tried a TORRAS screen protector from amazon that said it allowed the finger print scanner to work properly, and I can confirm it does.

I've not tried the WSKEN one yet.

I'm still not sure if I'm actually keeping this S24U yet. I'm not very impressed with the washed out colours. I might just keep my S23U rather than trading in.

I bought the Whitestone Dome EA glass. So far so good. Other than 2 small bits of lint got under despite putting it on right after peeling off the factory peel. But no bubbles and took a whole 10 seconds to apply it.

Wait...how can this be true? The screen on the S23U was still curved...I had it so I know...and my S24U is arriving today and is supposed to be FLAT! So how can a curved protector fit on a flat screen? Or are you talking about film type protectors as compared to tempered glass???

Samsung till date hasn't produced any tempered glass screen protector, so now you have the answer.

No idea what will work best on the flat screen after years of dealing with curved screens.
I opted to try this one: Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector [GlasTR EZ Fit]
Will report back on how it worked out.

Actually prefer the ones with no silly cutout for cameras. They will catch dust and look like crap!
If your selfie pics look bad, clean it! Same applies to having no cover as well.

I've used the same (Spigen) ones on iPhones since 12 Pro Max with flat screen and it's hard to tell there's no protector until it breaks and you realize if there was no protector installed...
