I'm going to be buying a Spec 02 with an Asus Z270-AR. My cha fan plugin is on the bottom right of the mobo. Should the exhaust fan be long enough to reach all the way over there?
Solution
It depends on how you will route the fan cable. If it's directly (shortest point from exhaust fan to the bottom right of mobo), then, yes, the cable is long enough. However, if you plan to route the fan cable to the upper left hole, to the back of the mobo tray, run diagonally to the nearest bottom right hole of the case, and out to the bottom right of the mobo, then, there is a chance it won't reach. In this case, you can get a fan extension cable, like this: https://www.amazon.com/3-Pin-Extension-Sleeving-Connectors-Length/dp/B00C46K88M/ref=pd_sim_147_4?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00C46K88M&pd_rd_r=XQQRXASPPQ99EHP6DFEM&pd_rd_w=2rY4B&pd_rd_wg=Ew5zI&psc=1&refRID=XQQRXASPPQ99EHP6DFEM

You can also get a fan splitter...

Make sure though that when you connect several fans, to take into account that the total amp draw of all the fans should be ~0.75A for safety. You can check the amp draw of the fan by looking at the sticker label at the back of the fan itself.

The case fans for spec 02 are 3 pins?

Also is the spec 02 good for first time builders.. And the spec 01?
Yes, it's actually my first case to build on (Spec-03, which is similarly laid out as the Spec-02). Cable management behind the tray can be tricky though if you are OCD (like me). All holes do not come with rubber grommets, so, it's up to you how to arrange exposed cables coming out from the back of the mobo tray. Ideally, you want to get a fully-modular or at the least a semi-modular PSU to avoid cable clutter that will be exposed at the bottom of the chassis. In the Spec-02, if you want to put a bottom 120mm fan, a Semi-Modular PSU is ideal (rather than a fully-modular one), since the cable connectors of a fully-modular PSU will add to the length of the actual PSU and you are forced to bend the cables abruptly so it will not hinder airflow from the bottom fan.

Check my 1st build in my sig (links to pcpartpicker) below. The actual ver.1.0 of my build is in another link in the pcpartpicker description.

And one more thing from personal experience is one intake fan ok?
Nope (from my experience). The minimum you should aim for is at least: 2 intake fans and 1 exhaust fan (or 2 exhaust fans). Depending on the type of fans used, as you add more fans in that minimum setup, the rate at which you lower the temperature in your case decreases, to the point that you are just adding more noise than cooling.

The main intention of filling up all your case's fan mounting location is to be able to run the fans at a lower speed (translating to lower noise) at the same airflow and temps as running a minimum setup (3-4 fan setup) at full speed.

Other builders just fill up the fan slots to add to aesthetic value (esp. nicer looking fans with bling-bling LEDs). But that is just preference.

Hmm ok I plan on building a Spec 01 for my dad and then maybe a spec 02 for me.. Depends on how well building goes honestly.. I might just buy a Spec 01
